Army chief briefs PM on security situation

Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Rukmangad Katawal briefed Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on the current security situation of the country on Monday.

PM Koirala, who also holds the defence portfolio, gave direction to Katawal to “beef up security without coming under any pressure from any side”, it is learnt.

Koirala’s defence advisor Ramesh Jung Thapa was also present at the meeting held in Baluwatar.

Nepal Army said this was a regular briefing on the current security scenario and the activities of the army.
