Home Minister Krishna Sitaula has said that Nepal government gives moral support to the current movement for repatriation launched by Bhutanese refugees.

Speaking at a press meet in Jhapa, Friday, Sitaula said the government supports their struggle for democracy and repatriation.

He expressed sadness over the recent incident in Mechi bridge where one refugee was killed and several others injured when Indian police used force to prevent the refugees from crossing the bridge as a part of their Long March campaign.

Meanwhile, Sitaula stressed on the need to strengthen eight party unity. He conceded there were still problems in the law and order situation and expressed determination to improve the situation ahead of Constituent Assembly elections.

Sitaula has reached Jhapa to prepare for Saturday’s public meeting in Birtamode. Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala is expected to address the meeting.
