The government has constituted an investigation committee headed by Joint Attorney General Pushpa Raj Koirala to investigate into the death of an alleged poacher inside the custody of Chitwan National Park.

Ram Chaudhari of Divya Nagar VDC, Chitwan, who was taken in custody about two weeks ago on charge of poaching rhino horn from the national park, had died due to ‘ excessive torture’ by the national park officials.

The three-member committee comprising joint secretaries at the Home Ministry and Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation has been directed to present its report within 15 days.
