Boat capsizes in Koshi river; Over 50 missing (4:40 p.m.)

Reports from eastern Nepal say a boat carrying over sixty people has capsized in Koshi river on Friday afternoon.

According to reports, a boat on its way to Sri Lanka tappu of Sunsari district from Raja Bas in the same district capsized in the swollen Koshi river at around 3 p.m. today.

Most of the people aboard the ill-fated boat are said to be missing.

Police said a group of security personnel had already left to the area but added that they did not have details.

Details are still awaited.
