Two people of a family were killed when they were struck by lightning at Sarangkot village development committee 1 of Kaski district on Thursday.

Those deceased are 48 year old Nar Bahadur Nepali and his 13 year old daughter Rama Nepali.

Reports quoted District Police Office Kaski as saying that they were killed when they were hit by the lightning at around 11 p.m. on Thursday.

Meanwhile another report said, three persons, including a pregnant woman, were killed and seven others injured when they were struck by lightning at Shikarbensi-4, Nuwakot, on Thursday night.

Twenty-year-old pregnant woman Malati Parajuli, 83-year-old Lal Bahadur Thapa and Rajan Thapa (11) were killed on the spot.

The injured include Arjun Thapa, Ram Kumari Pundit, Sita Pundit, Sabina Thapa, Gore Pundit, Bimala Thapa and Keshav Pundit.
