Rayamajhi vows to punish everyone suppressing people’s movement

The coordinator of the high-level commission formed to probe the atrocities committed to suppress pro-democracy movement of the country, Krishna Jung Rayamajhi, has vowed to punish everyone involved in using excessive force for suppressing the recent people’s movement.

Rayamajhi said the commission is authorised to book those who try to elude its investigation.

Rayamajhi, who is visiting the mid and far western regions to investigate incidences of atrocities in the districts said the list of people involved in suppressing the movement will be published after his return to Kathmandu.

The team visited District Development Committee, Mahakali zonal hospital and Janajyoti Campus of Mahendranagar and met victims and eyewitnesses.

During the enquiry, the victims and representatives of parties demanded that maximum punishment be given to the team led by police inspector

Sharada Prasad Chaudhary as the team, under the influence of alcohol, had used force even against passers-by.
