The nine-year-old girl who was about to be married off to the son of a man to whom her father lost Rs 30,000 in gambling is to be kept at the District Child Welfare Committee in Doti, reports said.

A meeting between the district administration, police including various organizations working for the rights and welfare of women and children had reached the decision after discussing the unusual case.
