As an indication of clear violations of the ceasefire code of conduct, Maoist rebels have abducted a Nepali Congress cadre from Bouddha area in the capital Saturday.

A press release issued by Nepali Congress said, a group of people identifying themselves as ‘Maoists’ had abducted Shree Lama, Nepali Congress village development committee president of Simpalkavre in Sindhupalchowk district.

His whereabouts is not known.

Denouncing the abduction, the Nepali Congress has termed it an inhumane and anti-democratic act and urged the rebels for immediate and unconditional release of Lama.
