The Government of Japan has pledged a grant of Rs. 6,214,314 to Nursing Campus, Maharajgunj, Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University for the implementation of the Project for Extension of Academic Building.

A press release issued by the Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu said, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Tsutomu Hiraoka and Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Sarala Shrestha, signed and exchanged the grant contract to this effect amidst a function on Friday
The release further said, “The Grant will be utilized for the extension of the second floor of the campus building consisting of four classrooms, two tutorial rooms, a library room and store rooms.”
Out of the estimated construction cost of over 10 million rupees the Campus will contribute approximately 41%.
Speaking at the function, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Hiraoka reiterated that the Government of Japan has been assisting Nepal in its efforts to alleviate poverty and achieve sustainable economic development.
“Hiraoka expressed his belief that the extension of the Academic Building of the Nursing Campus building during the memorable occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Nepal will play a symbolic role in further strengthening the friendly and cordial relations between the two nations for the years to come,” the statement added.
