President of Nepali Congress (Democratic) and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that whether the congress unification take place or not will be decided within a month.
Speaking at a press meet in eastern town of Biratnagr Tuesday, Deuba requested Prime Minister and NC president Girija Prasad Koirala to finalise details about the proposed congress unification, soon.
Deuba also pointed out the need for a separate task force to expedite the unification process.
He said that the party unification should be held from village to central level in dignified manner and expressed dissatisfaction with the unification modalities as publicised by Koirala to hand over responsibilities on seniority basis from the village level to the centre.
Deuba asked for forming a task force to give a final outline for the dignified unification of two congress parties.
Earlier, addressing a function organized by sister organization of the party, Nepal Tarun Dal, Deuba accused Koirala of not approaching the unification with a sense of sacrifice but as an attempt to weaken the NC-D and to win over some cadres.
Commenting on current political issue, former premier Deuba said, Maoist arms should be managed before they join the interim government.
