Various religious communities have urged all to resolve the current political stalemate of the country through dialogue and understanding.

A press release issued by the Inter Religious Peace Committee Nepal said, “It is the spirit of all religions that such conflict should be resolved through peaceful means as all religions eventually aim to promote peace, love, justice and understanding.”

The Inter Religious Peace Committee Nepal has also expressed serious concern over the threats to actively boycott the elections and the government’s determination to hold it, adding, “Such a confrontational situation might lead to further violence and bloodshed in the country.”

“All major religious communities in Nepal have been praying and making various efforts to avoid violence and bloodshed in the country. But our efforts have not produced concrete results as the parties in conflict have remained insensitive towards our call for peace,” the statement added.

Inter Religious Peace Committee Nepal have urged all peace loving citizens, civil society, intellectual community, media, political parties and the international community to make efforts from their side to prevent the nation from sliding into civil war and to resolve the conflict peacefully through dialogue and negotiation.
