The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has appealed to the Maoists to free all those abducted and respect international humanitarian laws and human rights.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, NHRC said Maoist affiliated Janatantrik Tarai Morcha, had abducted Shivadhan Rai on May 15 from Fattepur village in Saptari and Yogendra Bahadur Baniya of Fulachour village of the same district on May 7.

The statement further said the Maoists had abducted Nirmala Majhi of Bharpani village on May 16 in Ramechhap.

NHRC also asked the Maoists to disclose the condition of Upendra Prasad Guragain, who was also abducted December 20 last year from the same district.

Though the government had decided to release all political detainees, Maoists remain tight lipped about the people they had abducted and has been continuing atrocities.
