Nepal and China will sign two agreements during the special visit of Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Thang Jia Swang to Nepal, beginning March 16, Nepal Samacharpatra reported.
During the three day visit, an agreement to provide zero percent tax facilities on Nepalese exports to China will be signed, the report said. The other agreement will be on Chinese financial assistance of 20 million Yuan as part of 80 million Yuan annual Chinese assistance to Nepal.
The state councilor will visit the birth place of Lord Buddha, Lumbini, and hold talks with vice chairmen of the Council of Ministers Dr Tulsi Giri and Kirti Nidhi Bista on the first day of his visit. He will hold talks with Foreign Minister Ramesh Nath Pandey and receive audience from King Gyanendra the next day, the report said.
Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Thang Jia Swang is also expected to hold informal discussion with the leaders of agitating political parties during a dinner on March 17.
His earlier schedule of visiting Nepal beginning February 16 was postponed due to an important meeting of the Chinese Congress.
Unlike other countries, China has described the latest political developments of Nepal as an internal matter of the country and has been continuing its assistance to Nepal even after the February 1 royal takeover. But on Jan 24, China urged for reconciliation among all political forces in Nepal.
