As international community has been pressurizing for decommissioning of Maoist arms before they join the interim government, Charge d´Affaires of Finland to Nepal, Pauli Mustonen, has opined that elections for the constituent assembly (CA) be held only after the Maoist weapons are managed.

Speaking at a programme in Mahendranagar, Mustonen, who is also current chairperson of the European Union in Kathmandu, stated that he was finding some indications that the UN mission currently in Nepal was able to bring about some positive results.
“Arrival of the UN mission in the country indicates that a good work has been done toward getting support from the international community,” reports quoted Mustonen as saying.
Political analysts Nilambar Acharya, Dr Jagadish Pokharel, Madhu Acharya and chairman of the Ganeshman Singh Study foundation Navindra Raj Joshi presented their views regarding arms management, democratization of the government army, and other issues.
