Journalist Shiva Bahadur Karki of Biratnagar, Morang, eastern town of Nepal has bagged this year’s Prakash human rights award.

General Secretary of Nepal Congress, Ramchandra Poudel, handed over the award to Karki amidst a function organized to mark the 14th Prakash Memorial Day at Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The award carries a purse of rupees 25,000 and letter of appreciation.

Speaking at the programme, Karki said that the award has filled him with more honesty and enthusiasm.
