Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said that the agreement reached between the ruling seven party alliance and the Maoists is a foundation of a new Nepal.
Addressing a joint meeting of party central committee and district presidents of the party Wednesday, Prime Minister Koirala described the agreement as a ‘historic’ one and added that the agreement will fulfill his wish for independent, sovereign and prosperous Nepal.
In his speech, telecasted live by state run Nepal Television, the Prime Minister further said that the agreement proved that all the problems could be resolved through peaceful means.
Stating that some reactionary forces might hatch conspiracies against the agreements to make it failure, the premier urged all people to move forward with patience to diffuse such attempts.
The Prime Minister said that the leaders of the seven political parties and Maoists moved one step forward in their goal of making a new Nepal by holding the elections of the constituent assembly as per people’s aspiration expressed during people’s movement by signing the agreement.
Stating that this is not a victory or loss for anybody, the Prime Minister said this is the victory of all Nepali people and all should move ahead by keeping people at the center.
He further said that the agreement was reached due to cooperation from all sectors including Maoists.
The Prime Minister also appealed all to be cautious against any attempts to make the agreement a failure and to work for the development of ‘New Nepal’.
