The meeting of the central committee of CPN (Maoist) got underway at Kami Danda in Kavre district from Sunday morning.

The meeting that started at around 7:00 am is believed to name the leaders and the members of the party in the upcoming interim government and the interim legislature.

The meeting, which comes five days after the landmark agreement between the seven parties and the Maoists, will also discuss the procedure of cantonment of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and arms management as well as party chairman Prachanda’s visit to New Delhi to participate in the ‘leadership summit’ slated for November 17-18.

The meeting at Kami Danda coincided with the visit of a joint team comprising the UN inspectors and representatives of the government and the Maoist party at the same place where a PLA division will be settled. The joint team also visited a proposed cantonment site in Sindhuli district.

Maoist supremo Prachanda and almost all central leaders and deputy commanders of the PLA are participating in the meeting, reports said.
