INLS Colorado organizes a literary programme to mark 193rd Bhanu jayanti

International Nepali Literary Society (INLS) Colorado Chapter organized a literary programme in Denver Colorado on Sunday to mark the 193rd Bhanu jayanti or the birth anniversary of pioneer poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya.

A press statement issued by the Society said that various speakers talked about the contribution of late Bhanu Bhakta Acharya on the occasion.

Former Chief Commissioner of the Commission of the Investigation of the Abuse of Authority, Ram Prasad Shrestha, former Ambassador to China, Rajeshwore Acharya, legal expert Narayan Khatiwada and many Nepalis residing in Colorado had participated in the programme.

Various litterateurs recited poems and a child poem competition was also organized on the occasion, the statement said. Brinden Dev Adhikari, Biva Adhikari and Suchita Sharma stood first, second and third respectively in the competition, while Sakar Sharma received consolation prize.

Rohini Sharma distributed prizes and certificates to the winners.

Chief Guest of the programme Shrestha publicized a book entitled ‘Atitko Swargabata’ (From the Heaven of Past) on the occasion.
