In a series of arrivals of high-profile foreign delegates, senior vice-minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yasuhisa Shiozaki arrived in Kathmandu Friday afternoon for a two-day visit of Nepal.

Talking to journalists at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival, Shiozaki described his visit as a goodwill visit.
Answering the query of journalists about the role of Japan in Nepal’s peace process, he said Japan always stood in favour of democracy in Nepal.
He further said that he is visiting Nepal to receive information about the recent political situation of the country.
He informed that he will meet senior government officials and leaders of various political parties during his stay in Nepal.
A high level United Nations team, a Chinese delegation led by Vice Foreign Minister and a high level delegation of Asian Development Bank is currently in Nepal to assess the situation in a changed political scenario.
Nepal and Japan is also celebrating the golden jubilee of establishment of diplomatic relations between both the countries.
