Spaniard killed on Dhaulagiri

A 45-year-old Spaniard fell into a crevasse on the 8167 meters high Dhaulagiri and died. This happened three and a half hours after two Italians climbed the peak through the normal north east ridge Friday, the Ministry of Tourism said.

Jose Antonio Galindo fell into a crevasse at 7800 meters during a summit bid and died at 2.30 PM, the Ministry said.

Leader of the predominantly Italian team Claudio Rosset, 38, and Silvio Mondinelli, 43, climbed the peak at 11 AM, the Ministry said.
