Kathmandu, August 25: Nepal and Japan agreed to continue bilateral cooperation in various fields in the future. In the official talks between Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and visiting Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori held in Singha Durbar Friday, Japanese Prime Minister assured that Japan would continue its assistance for Nepal’s development efforts.
Prime Minister Koirala appreciated the Japanese continued cooperation for Nepal’s social and economic development.
In the talks matters relating to bilateral relations and cooperation were discussed.
Later Prime Minister Koirala hosted a luncheon in honour of visiting Japanese Prime Minister Mori in Singha Durbar in which Koirala highly valued Japanese interest in Nepal’s development and uplift of social and economic condition of Nepalese people.
In the reply speech, Japanese Prime Minister Mori said that relations between Nepal and Japan have been consolidated both at the official as well as people’s level. He further said that these friendly relations would be further strengthened in the days to come.
The current visit would help further strengthening bilateral friendly relations between Nepal and Japan.
He assured that Japan would continue to provide economic assistance to Nepal for its social and economic development.
Japanese Prime Minister Mori arrived in Kathmandu Friday morning for an official visit to Nepal.
