King Birendra inaugurates RONAST building

Kathmandu, August 28: His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev Monday inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Royal Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (RONAST) in Khumaltar of Lalitpur district.

The newly constructed building of the RONAST has all modern facilities for research and carrying out all activities related to science and technology. The building was constructed in 80 ropanis of land with the cost of 564 million rupees.

Created 15 years ago with the objective of conducting scientific research and other activities related to science and technology, RONAST office had been in the rented house and its activities had been hampered due to the lack of enough space and modern facilities.

With the construction of modern building equipped with all necessary facilities, RONAST would move ahead in the field of scientific research, said Surendra Prasad Chaudharai, Minister for Science and Technology.
