A blood donation programme was organized at Shree Birendra Army Higher Secondary School at Sallaghari of Bhaktapur district on Monday on the occasion of the formation of the Youth Red Cross Circle in the school.

A press release issued by the Directorate of Public Relations of Nepali Army said that 10 teachers and employees and 21 students of campus level donated blood on the occasion.

Officials at the District Red Cross Branch Bhaktapur briefed about the activities of Red Cross.

The blood donation programme came at a time when there was shortage of blood in the capital.

Chairperson of the Army Wives’ Association Uma Katawal and principal of the school Indumani Chamjong were also present on the occasion.
