Measures for copyrights act implementation discussed

Kathmandu, Mar 3 : United States Information Center and Artistes Society organised an interaction programme on the measures to be adopted for implementation of the Copyrights Act in accordance with national and international norms and values.

On the occasion, the artistes stressed the need for the government to formulate stringent laws and implement it to cheek unauthorised sales of their songs and cassettes within and outside the country.

Advisor of the U.S. Patent and Trademark office Prof. Davis E. Long said that acts relating to copyright and trademark rights have been formulated and implemented in majority of the countries throughout the world.

He suggested that the copyrights and trademark acts should be formulated and implemented for the welfare of the country.
