Bhadrapur, Mar. 4 : CPN(UML) Standing Committee member and deputy leader of the Party’s Parliamentary Party K. P. Sharma Oli inaugurated the fifth Jhapa district convention of the party and the newly built cpn-uml office building at Birtamod today.
Altogether 266 persons including 23 observers and 243 members are taking part in the three-day convention.
The 12-room building was constructed at a cost of Rs. 1,658,788 provided by members of the party and donors. Local resident Nanda Prasad Prasain had donated two Katthas of land worth Rs. 200,000 for construction of the building.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Oli said cpn-uml has since its very inception been striving for the rights and welbeing of the people and country. The party is determined to fight against any force trying to weaken the country, he added.
MP and cpn-uml Taplejung district secretary Til Kumar Meyangbo, cpn-uml mechi zonal chief Devraj Ghimire, cpn-uml central member and Koshi zonal incharge Guru Baral and other speakers also expressed their views at the function chaired by cpn-uml jhapa district secretary Devendra Dahal.
