Kathmandu, June 22: A delegation led by president of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Pradip Kumar Shrestha met Minister of State for Local Development Suresh Malla and drew the attention of HMG on the tenders recently published by the DDCs which states differently the objects and rate of tax as specified by the regulations on tax to be raised by the local bodies.

The delegation discussed constituting a follow-up committee involving representatives of the FNCCI, DDC, municipality and VDC federation in order to continue discussion and interaction on fixing the local taxes as per the interest and commitment shown by the local bodies in the development of the industry and trade at the local level. The delegation also discussed on constituting follow up committees involving the representatives of the local bodies’ and local FNCCI.

On the occasion, Minister of State Malla expected cooperation from the private sector to fulfill the objectives of the government regarding the local bodies as it is a major concern for the HMG.
