Kathmandu, June 20: During special hour at the meeting of the House of Representatives today, Badri Prasad Mandal of the Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP) denounced the murder yesterday of the former Siraha DDC chairman and Nepali Congress general committee member Chandra Narayan Yadav and alleged that the administration had been resorting to repression in the pretext of maintaining law and order.
Arjun Prasad Joshi of the Nepali Congress said that murder and violence had been increasing at various places of the country for the last few days and instead of blaming one another, the political parties having faith in constitution should have identical views to generate people’s awareness.
Dharmanath Prasad Saha of the CPN-UML strongly condemned the murder yesterday of the former Siraha DDC chairman Chandra Narayan Yadav while returning home by unidentified assailants and said that action should be taken against the culprits whichever party they belong to.
Hari Narayan Chaudhari of the Nepali Congress also condemned the murder and expressed condolences to the bereaved family and demanded the re-establishment of the police posts at various places of Morang and Sunsari districts from where these were removed resulting in spurt of crimes.
Sherdhan Rai of the CPN-UML alleged that the government was not serious on preventing violence and terror though the periodicals have been highlighting it and condemned the killing of former Siraha DDC chairman.
Tanka Prasad Rai of the Nepali Congress said that the MPs have been very serious on the law and order issue and demanded the conservation of medicinal herbs and introduction of various income generating programmes in the Himali region to raise the living standard of the people.
Kunta Sharma of the CPN-UML said that the employees of a sales office at Dharan have not been receiving their salary and drew the attention of the government towards the abrogated system of every bringing one person each inside Singha Durbar.
Som Prasad Pandey of the CPN-UML said that the report of the inspection of the Foreign Affairs and Human Rights Committee at the five inundated VDCs of Banke district due to construction of a dam in the Indian side of the border should be tabled as soon as possible in the House.
