Reform education, says Nepal

Gaur, June 14:Leader of the main opposition party and CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal has spoken of the need to change the present education policy for removing the existing problems of poverty alleviation and unemployment which is widespread in the country.

Mr Nepal made this remark while inaugurating a local Madhopur Lower Secondary School building constructed at a cost of some Rs 1.5 million by the Plan international (NGO) by mobilizing people’s voluntary labour and a hostel building of Khesrahariya Secondary School built at a cost of some one million rupees by Khesrahariya VDC in separate functions.

Stating that the present education system has done nothing more than creating a lot of unemployed people, he spoke of he need of timely changes in the system.

The CPN-UML leader also called on the teachers to fully devote themselves to improving quality of education as the government has increased their services and facilities.

On the occasion, NC’s Sitaram Mudbhari spoke of the need of concrete programmes and policies for removing distortions and anomalies plaguing the education sector.

Various other speakers had also expressed their views on the occasion.
