Kathmandu, June 20: The parliamentary delegation of House of Representatives, Foreign Relations and Human Rights Committee which returned to the capital following an on the site inspection of the Nepalese territory affected by an embankment constructed on the Indian side of the Rapti river bordering Banke district met Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today and apprised him of the situation in the area.
Meanwhile, the meeting of the committee held today decided to direct His Majesty’s Government to dispatch financial assistance of Rs. 6 million to Banke district natural calamity relief fund for immediate rescue and relief of the 1723 families of five VDCs affected by the embankment.
