Low-cost houses handed over to poor families

Pokhara, June 8: The Nepal Housing for Humanity, Pokhara affiliate office, Kaski has so far constructed 40 low-cost and efficient housing blocks and handed them over to economically poor families in different wards of the Municipality.

The project has constructed such apartment blocks at Ward No. 14, 15, 17 and 18 of Pokhara Municipality for the purpose of providing housing to economically deprived families that cannot construct their own houses due to low income or that do not own a house or have no land for the purpose.

The project is also learnt to have constructed 12 additional blocks.

The housing for humanity Nepal chapter has constructed such apartment blocks in Tikapur in Kailali, Dibyanagar of Chitwan and Birendranagar, Surkhet for the benefit of the economically low-income families.

The project aims to construct 152 such cost-effective and efficient apartment blocks in Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City, Lekhnath Municipality and adjoining VDCs of Kaski district by 2005, it was disclosed at a press meet cum house handing-over ceremony the other day.
