Revenue leakage to be checked, says Acharya

Kathmandu, July 12: During question hour at the National Assembly today, Minister for Finance Mahesh Acharya said that the process of implementing the report of the revenue leakage investigation committee has been moved ahead.

Stating that the statements of 65 employees and 19 importers have been taken in this connection, Mr Acharya made it clear that the process of recording statement of various persons was continuing and a report had been sent to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authorities for taking action against the guilty persons.

Finance Minister Acharya said that Nepal had presented working papers mainly on poverty alleviation strategy, priority reform action, and Nepal reform agenda on poverty alleviation at the Nepal Development Forum meeting held in Paris.

Apart from these, the meeting also discussed development of the private sector, good governance, mobilisation of foreign aid and reforms in the economic sector.
