Biratnagar, June 10: CPN-ML general secretary Bamdev Gautam, inaugurating the third convention of the party’s Morang district committee here the other day, spoke of the need for the communist party to work honestly for liberating the nation and the people.
Gautam complained that following the restoration of democracy in the country, no significant works have been done other than to let the people speak out their views, write and get organized.
Various other speakers including chief of the lower Koshi Sub-Bureau of the party Kamal Koirala, chief of Mechi Sub-Bureau Man Kumar Gautam and central member Ram Chandra Adhikari also spoke at the function chaired by party’s Morang district secretary Mahesh Regmi.
Likewise, general secretary Bamdev Gautam honoured five senior communist activists and democrats by smearing red powder on their forehead and presenting bouquets and draping them with a shawls amid a function here the other day.
Those felicitated in recognition for their contributions to the democratic movement are Himalaya Swaray Baidya, Mrs Uttara Rawat, Agam Lal Jagat, Ajit Aryal and Banke Lal Potwal.
Likewise, general secretary Gautam gave away prizes and certificates to those securing first, second and third positions in the rickshaw competition and commendation letters to blood donors on the occasion of the third Morang district convention of cpn-ml.
At the same function, the general secretary gave away the first, second and third prizes to Narayan Dahal of the CPN-ML Municipal Committee, Surya Prakash of the Ramailo Ilaka Area and Laxmi Kumar Shrestha of Indrapur Ilaka area respectively for their remarkable contributions to the party while central instructor Narayan Shrestha received the commendation letter.
