Oppn MPs boycott House meet

Kathmandu, June 10: As all the opposition parties boycotted the meeting of the House of Representatives today also, the meeting was postponed.

When the meeting began, Speaker Taranath Ranabhat gave time to the Home Minister to speak but the opposition MPs took the stance that regular proceedings will not be allowed unless the issues raised since the last three days are finalised.

Krishna Charan Shrestha of the RPP announced that the RPP will boycott today’s meeting saying that the reason why the meeting has not taken place since a few days back is still intact.

  1. P Sharma Oli of the CPN-UML said as the ruling party was not prepared to find a way to run the parliamentary meeting, his party will also boycott today’s meeting and all MPs of his party left the parliament.

Hari Acharya of the National People’s front also said his party will boycott today’s meeting. Speaker Ranabhat then postponed the meeting until l pm, tomorrow June 11, Sunday.

MPs of the Nepal Sadbhawana Party, the Samyukta Janamorcha and the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party were not present at today’s meeting.

The meeting came to halt l0 minutes after it began at 1:15 p.m.
