RNAC signs accord to lease aircraft

Kathmandu, June 1: Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC) has signed an agreement with enset world-wide services, Australia for the lease of boeing 767-300 I.R. Aircraft for RNAC’s regular services.

The aircraft having a total capacity of 244 seats including 24 Sangrila seats is being leased 300 flights hours a month at the rate of US $ 3,530 per flight hour for 18 months.

Enset World-Wide Services will look after the repair, maintenance and insurance of the aircraft which is scheduled to be put into service from June 28.

A press release issued by RNAC here today states that while inviting tender for leasing of aircraft, the price quoted by babcock and brown company of ireland was the lowest and accordingly it was called for negotiations but the company expressed its inability to lend the aircraft on lease.

Later enset world-wide services, which had quoted the second lowest price was called for negotiation, the press release states.

The company had quoted US $ 4,300 and US $ 4,100 per flight-hour in the tender. But during the negotiations, the company agreed to lease the aircraft for US $ 3,530 per flight-hour, the press release states.
