Abraham Conservation Award recipients

Kathmandu, June 5: The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) announced this year’s recipients of the Abraham Conservation Award at a function held here this afternoon. The award recipients are ornithologist Kalu Ram Tamang of Tiger Mountain, Senior Wildlife Technician Harkha Man Lama of NCRTC/KMTNC, Assistant Ecologist Narendra Man Babu Pradhan, DNPWC, Assistant Wardern Tika Ram Adhikari, Royal Chitwan National Park, chairperson Pasang Bhotia, Yamphudin VDC, Taplejung, The DOLPO Educational, Social and Environmental Reservation Team (DESERT), Dolpa, Snow Leopard Trekking (P) Ltd and the Shiva Dal Gulma of the Royal Nepal Army.

The award was established in 1995 with the support of WWF US board member, Ms Nancy Abraham. The award provides an institutional mechanism to honor and recognise dedicated, “grassroots” conservationists in Nepal.
