Mahendranagar, June 3: A joint meeting of the local administrative officers of the bordering areas of Pithauragadh district of India and Darchula, Baitadi and Dadeldhura districts of Mahakali zone decided to control criminal activities taking place in the Nepal-India border.
The two sides agreed to control smuggling, repair and construct bridges in the border, control illegal forest destruction and smuggling of valuable herbs into both Nepal and India and resolve the customs problems in the border areas of both the countries.
The meeting was participated on behalf of Nepal by chief district officers of Darchula, Baitadi and Dadeldhura districts Ved Prakash Lekhak, Ram Krishna Bhurtel and Dilli Prasad Shiwakoti respectively, the office chiefs of the border related offices and police chiefs of Darchula, Baitadi and Dadeldhura districts.
From the Indian side, the meeting was participated in by police officer Ram Kumar as well as indian officers of the border area led by district magistrate of Pithauragadh Tarkendra Vaisnav.
