Kathmandu, May 25: The Credit Consumer Association of Nepal (CCAN) organised a talk programme here this afternoon to discuss various financial measures taken by the governments of last ten years and its implications to the common man of the country.
Chandrakala ‘Anchal’ Rana, chairperson of CCAN opined that time had come to move away from the tall promises made by politicians and be organised in non-governmental way thereby collectively seeking answers to questions like ‘why is the country taking more and more of loans and in which areas are they being spent?’ Describing the situation in the country as ‘alarming’, Rana said that her organisation was working towards strengthening of nationalism despite all odds.
Gopal Siwakoti Chintan, general secretary of Rastriya Sarokar Samaj said that the government ought to give priority to uplift the small farmers of the country by waiving the loans that they have taken.
