Itahari, May 23: The two-day orientation programme on “Local self-governance and its regulations” organised jointly by the Ministry of Local Development and the Local Development Training Center began here recently.

The orientation programme is being organised with the objective of familiarising office-bearers of the district development committee and heads of the offices concerned with local development with various aspects of the Local Self-Governance Act and its regulations.

Speaking from the chair, chairman of Sunsari DDC Arbinda Prasad Mehta said that the elected bodies should work sincerely for implementation of the Local Self-Governance Act.

Local Development Officer Kedar Neupane and regional director of the Local Development Ministry Bijaya Kumar Mishra also expressed their views at the oreintation programme.
