Teachers’ role discussed

Lalitpur, May 23: The two-day seminar organised by the lalitpur District Education Office for headmasters of private and public schools concluded recently.

Educationists Dr. Jayaraj Awasthi and Dr. Vidhyanath Koirala and principal of Ideal Model School, Jawalakhel Ranjit Singh presented working papers on “Development of principals and teachers,” “Role of the principals in improving the standard of education,” and “effective educational leadership” respectively at the seminar.

Participants of the seminar held extensive discussions on the working papers and presented suggestions for the development of physical infrastructures at schools, appointment of qualified teachers, secondary school curriculum and examinations.

At the seminar chaired by chairman of the District Education Committee and District Development Committee Madhav Poudel, district education officer Bal Bahadur Pariyar, joint secretary at the Ministry of Education Chuman Singh Basnet and founder principal of Little Angels School Umesh Shrestha also expressed their views.

sLikewise in Itahari, Sunsari DDC member Ganesh Prasad Guragain, inaugurating the 10th anniversary of Adarsha Secondary School and the guardian day here recently, said that the guardians, teachers and the students should cooperate with eachother inorder to improve the standard of education.

Chairman of Baklauri VDC Shyam Narayan Rajdhami, vice-chairman Agni Basti, guardians Govinda Karki, Puspa Pyakhurel, Bishnu Adhikari and others also expressed their views.

At the function chaired by ward chairman Chaudi Chaudhary, headmaster of the school Parshuram Chaudhary presented the budget of Rs 1.350 million.

On the same occasion prizes and certificates were given to the winners of various district level cultural, sports and other competitions as well as bright students.
