Yugkavi award given away to poet Roka

Kathmandu, May 23: Vice Chancellor of the Royal Nepal Academy Mohan Koirala presented the Yugkavi Siddhicharan Award for last year to Bhimdarshan Roka amid a function Monday.

The award presented by the Yugakabi Siddhicharan Foundation on the occasion of the 89th birth anniversary of poet Shrestha carries a purse of Rs 50,000 and a citation.

Roka has been nominated for the award for his contribution in promoting of Nepali poetry with innovative style and feeling.

On the occasion, Prof. Krishna Gautam congratulated him for his quality work.

During the function held under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohan Himanshu Thapa, a host of speakers including Prof. Devilal Shrestha and member secretary of the foundation Tejeswar Babu Gonga spoke about the contribution of the late poet Shrestha.
