Leftist parties protest against price rise in POL products

Kathmandu, October 15: Leftist parties organised rallies in Kathmandu Sunday protesting against the recent decision of the government to raise the prices of petroleum products.

Main opposition party CPN-UML and combined nine-left parties took out separate rallies, which went round the city chanting slogans against the government.

The protestors also demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision of price hike in petroleum products.

The government raised the prices of all petroleum products citing the price hike in the international market.

Different leftist leaders likeIshwar Pokhrel and Krishna Gopal Shrestha of CPN-UML and Siddhilal Singh addressed their protest rallies and corner meetings.

They accused the government of adding burden to people by raising the prices of petroleum products.

Leftist leaders warned to intensify their protest programmes if the government did not withdraw the decision to raise the prices of petroleum products.
