NC-D stages protest

Nepali Congress (Democratic) Tuesday staged a street protest in the capital. Chanting anti-regression slogans, thousands of NC-D supporters marched past major city areas.

The really that began from Ratnapark in the afternoon passed through Bagbazaar, Putalisadak, Bhadrakali and Bhotahiti and merged at Ratnapark.

Addressing the gathering, NC-D president Sher Bahadur Deuba said the October 4 move of the King was an attempt to take away the constitutional rights and stated that his party has taken to streets to retrieve the very rights.

He declared that the party, notwithstanding its protests, would never resort to violent means. The former prime minister, who was the major scapegoat in the October 4 takeover, said that the ongoing agitation would continue till the end of regression.
