Seventy-seven security personnel along with others who had been abducted by the rebels in the Sunday night clashes in Argakhachi have returned back unhurt, the Radio Nepal reported quoting its Pokhara correspondent.

Earlier reports had stated that nearly one hundred security personnel had been abducted by the Maoists after the attack.

The Maoists used modern weapons while the police and the army were left to face them with less sophisticated guns.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba following his on-site inspection of  Sandikharkha said that the security personnel would be equipped with modern weapons to fight against the terrorists.
