In his message on the occasion of the Independence Day, Pakistani president General Pervez Musharraf said, “It is imperative that we, the people of Pakistan realize the importance of a strong, prosperous and progressive country for us as a nation. If we analyze the international geo-political environment, it is apparent that countries economically, politically and militarily weak find it a struggle to exist as sovereign states on the world stage. It is, therefore, our national duty to make Pakistan strong.”

Consistency and transparency of policies have resulted in economic stability; our focus is now on transferring these benefits to the people, he added.

“Let us therefore pledge on this occasion that we will join hands to make Pakistan a dynamic, progressive, tolerant and democratic Islamic welfare state. We have the example of our founding fathers before us to emulate. We cannot afford to let down the vast majority of moderate and peace-loving citizens of our country,” the Pakistani president added.

Likewise, in his message on the day, Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said, “I appeal to my fellow Pakistanis that we should work hard to ensure peace and prosperity in our country.”

“I urge you to maintain unity in your ranks and live in harmony as brother and sisters without any ethnic, sectarian or regional considerations,” he added.

Pakistan has enormous tourism potentials, as the country is rich in geographical bio-diversities.

For the people having a love for history, anthropology and archaeology, Pakistan offers invaluable opportunity of study. Similarly, for people who have love for marine life, crystal clear sandy beaches and soothing sunshine and pure blue wasters, Pakistan has a coastline extending from Karachi to Gwadar, a statement issued by Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu said.
