At least 40 persons, including women and children, have died in outbreaks of measles and diarrhoea in some villages in Mugu since last Thursday, officials said.

Health teams have been sent to the  district in far west Nepal to control the outbreaks. Traces of the diseases have also been reported from some neighbouring districts at the end of the current monsoon season.
