Kathmandu, August 15: A total of 30 houses collapsed in Bhaktapur due to heavy rains in Bhaktapur district, one of the three cities of the Kathmandu Valley, since this year’s monsoon season began.

Property over 1.6 million rupees was damaged in the incident involving house collapse. All 30 houses collapsed in two municipalities of the district – Bhaktapur Municipality and Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, police said.

Several other areas have also been affected by the rain, floods and landslides, said police.
