3 killed in separate road mishaps

Two persons were killed when a bus ran over a motorcycle at Baireni in Dhading district, on the Prithivi Highway, Wednesday morning.

Motorcyclist Prem Gurung of Gorkha district died on the spot when the bus (Ba-1-Kha 9707) heading for Dhadingbesi from Kathmandu hit his motorcycle (Ba-2-Pa 2228). The pillion rider, a woman whose identity is yet to be confirmed, died while being rushed to Kathmandu for treatment, local police officials said.

The locals of Baireni had blocked the traffic on the highway for hours demanding tough action against the bus driver. The traffic has now resumed.

In another tragic incident, a child was killed when a bus hit him on the Bhardha-Kanchapur road in Saptari district this morning, according to reports. The identity of the child could not be confirmed immediately.
