The government on the request of The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has published the names of 17 journalists who were detained for different cases.

Tara Nath Dahal, President of FNJ said that it is positive step but that the FNJ was demanding for the release of all journalists who were detained without any reason.

He further said, “more than 25 journalists are in the custody and government should make public their crime.”

Government and FNJ have signed an agreement this week after its protest program demanding the release of journalists arrested without any reason.
