Police has confiscated 16 quintals of tobacco from Tapanpur of Mahadaiya VDC in Mahottari, while being smuggled from India in three bullock carts, a report said Sunday.
A patrolling team of police led by inspector Bijay Kumar Yadav confiscated the tobacco worth about Rs. 400,000, RSS reported quoting district police office, Mahottari.
Culprits are absconding, police said, adding, “the hunt for the criminals is underway.”
