13 killed, dozens injured in separate road accidents

At least 13 people were killed and dozens others injured in separate road accidents around the country over the past 24 hours.

Five people were killed and 15 others injured when a passenger bus rammed into a parked truck at Sagarnath area in Sarlahi district early Saturday morning, reports said. The bus belonging to Binayak Travels was heading for Katari, Udaypur district, from Kathmandu.

In Morang, a cargo truck fell from the bridge over Chisankhola at Belbari today, killing four people.

Likewise, two persons were killed when their motorcycle collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction near Ranjha Airport in mid-western Banke district last night. The deceased have been identified as Kul Bahadur Rana and Sashi Nepali. Rana was an army man working in a barrack in the district.

In another accident, one person was killed and half a dozen others injured when a passenger bus heading for Burtibang of Baglung district from Butawal met with an accident at Jorte area of Palpa district today. The driver of the bus, Ram Shris, died on the spot.

Similarly, one Bhuwan Thapa, 51, was killed when a motorcycle hit him at Sallaghari last night. Thapa died on his way to hospital.
